Ok a few words first up, by way of a disclaimer, and so on. Now I'm not giving you links so you can rush off away from my site the minute you get here. Far be it for me to chase you away, but the internet is a wide and wonderful place, and there are funnily enough some other very interesting places to go on the Web, apart from my Alchemists' Den. So what I'm going to do is build up a few links for you of places I myself often go for one reason or another. Now just because I provide you with a link, doesn't mean that I necessarily endorse or agree with the views expressed on that site, any more than they would necessarily endorse what I say. They will however be places I consider interesting for one reason or another. Good, that's got that out of the way then... Now I'm going to leap straight into this topical argument about free speech. I do believe in it of course, whether it's on the internet or anywhere else, I am an Australian after all... Hey "I Love it when you call me names" ... sticks and stones mate, but your words can only entertain me! :-)
Right let's look at this free speech argument then and then give you some links to people who are at the forefront of the argument on both sides. Actually argument seems like the wrong word really, and debate wouldn't do either because those who oppose free speech seem more concerned with calling their supposed opponents names. Now let's get one thing clear from the start. Whilst I don't mind if you call me names, it isn't actually going to get us anywhere, anymore than it would if I call you names. I do of course reserve the right to call you names, and respect your right to do likewise, I would just hope that the human race had reached a point where it could debate calmly and unemotionally about an issue, on it's merits alone and without the need to have recourse to name calling. There's ten bob's worth of my free speech on the matter anyway, now let's crack into the nitty-gritty of the argument, and destroy the whole debate at a stroke.
If one looks around at what is happening, and I don't just mean on the internet, there is a concerted onslaught going on against free-speech at the moment. The internet is at the forefront of this battle, because it is still impossible to have complete control over information on the internet, and is likely to remain so for quite some time. Now at the apex of the censorship argument seems to be this fantasy phrase they've invented... "Hate Speech" and the basis of this truly fantastic concept, is the idea that an individual or an identifiable group of individuals can be so 'offended ' by someone's "hate speech" that regardless of the validity and truth of any of this so called hate-speech the person or persons making those statements, must be immediately censored and suppressed at all costs and on pain of being hauled before some obscene Novus Ordo Tribunal or other, already mushrooming out of control in Canada, and trying to claw a foothold into Australia, these special interest groups remind one of Stalin and his cruel commissars who delighted in their "little-tin-God" role of suppressing everything from speech to life itself among the peasantry.
Now Wake up folks, this is not my historic culture, is it yours? This is not the British Justice System that my father fought in two world wars to preserve. Hate speech! Pah, what nonsense, who ever heard of such a thing? There's precious little hate in this world if you ask me, precious little hate, because so few can love, truly love, that they know not how to hate... And Hate is "The Power That Preserves" my friends, for if a man will not hate an evil thing, how shall anything good prosper? When good men stand by and do nothing, evil prospers, so if there is anything left in this world that you love, you had better learn fast to hate that bad thing that threatens it's existence...

If you are white like me and feel you are part of a persecuted and diminishing majority, a threatened species so to speak, then pop in here from time to time for a bit of comfort as I do.. "Strewth I'm not the only one then, someone else feels the way I do" Bravo.
http://www.zundelsite.org/ Here Dr Ingrid Rimland (an American citizen) defends the right of her friend Ernst Zundel (a Canadian citizen) to speak freely. He can't in Canada of course, yet these kommissars up there are actually trying legal moves to shut down this American website.. You wouldn't credit it would you?. It ought to be on Ripley's "Believe it or Not" I reckon! :-)

When Dr Töben was charged by some enemy of free speech here last year before our Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission he was told there that truth could not be used in his defense! Dr Töben understandably simply walked out and would have nothing more to do with this illegal and un-Anglo-Saxon tribunal, which would more rightly be called the Human Wrongs and Unequal Opportunities Commission! Why do 'you' think this man is upsetting people here in the land of the fair go ??

Down here in Oz the author-it-tease aren't even game to let Mr Irving into Australia, for fear (one can only presume) that the controversial British historian will say something our delicate Australian ears ought not to hear, so the least I can do is give you his URL and then you can go and make up your own mind... Something our government down here doesn't seem to think we are capable of! :-)
