" Just a wee bit About Politics "

We are going to turn our lead into gold, we are going to use our first major tool, "self observation" and study to learn more about ourselves, and ultimately the world around us. The one existing in objective reality that is, not the one you now perceive with your false consciousness to be real. In order to get through this you are going to have to learn a wee bit 'About Politics', because you are going to find, (once you have studied yourself a bit) that you are indeed dealing with politics, IN YOUR HEAD (as you would no doubt put it) though it would be better if you could understand that consciousness is not just in your head, but then that's part of why I am here. To tell you about these things. I am going to introduce you to a lot of new ideas and concepts in this chapter, so without further ado let's discuss the....

" Politics of Self "

I have already told you that you are not who you think you are (whatever that may be) because, in the first instance you believe you are 'awake', whilst in the objective sense this is only so in a very limited way. And in the second instance you believe yourself to be one unified whole.. that when you say " I " it is always and everywhere the same " I " that speaks. It is not. Because as I have already told you, you are deeply divided, and artificially constructed at that. Your psychology is that of "man as we find him" whereas here we are studying " The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution".. We want to turn our lead into gold, and not remain an incompleted being whose only possible destiny could be devolution: For nothing remains static but the dead.  So... let's summarise. We realise we are asleep in the objective sense.. in the sense of what is actually possible, in the sense that many of the Saints for example were conscious, and we are a million miles from the consciousness of a Man like Jesus Christ, who as a man, was a Man No 7, in the system of numbering the different states of consciousness that we are using here. No in the objective sense we are only men 123, attempting to escape the prison of sleep and become men No 4, the first significant expansion of consciousness and establishment of permanent " I " in oneself.

I have told you also about an interim state, between 123ness (psychological / spiritual sleep) and the genuine and enduring awakening that constitutes "4ness" . We will describe this the same as is commonly done within Fourth Way Schools of thought, we will refer to it as " Deputy Steward " and we will talk more about that imminently. Meanwhile, if we have been honest with ourselves about our "self observation" we will surely have learned a number of things by now. Firstly as I have already said you will have found it difficult to self observe for any length of time because.. you quickly forget to do it, you are easily distracted and become identified with the external things / people around you, this will not do (said the schoolmaster :-)) you will have to realise that not only have you forgotten your true self, but that the ego personality(s) you have constructed as a response to the highly artificial world we have all grown up in, are in fact deeply divided. You are not one " I " but many iiiiiiiis and even groups of iiiiiiiis, because you see many of your iiiiiis do not know each other. Some do and they have formed groups. You have many individual iiiiiis and groups of iiiiiiis that do not know of each others existence.

For example let us imagine a man at home, with his wife. The kids are in bed and they are sitting down to a candlelit dinner to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The marriage is reasonably Ok, and the wife has a reasonably good impression of her husband as a man. He brings home the bacon, and they are enjoying a glass of wine. Now in truth though the wife doesn't know this, the husband has often had to lick boots at the office to claw his way up the corporate ladder as they say! Now do you really think that man sitting down to dinner with his wife, knows the man who licks the boss' boots at work whenever the business pressure seems to him to demand it?. Or does the grovelling boot licker know the proud self respecting husband at home. I tell you no, because there are things called buffers which we invent to keep these iiiiiis apart from one another most of the time. I mean it's already chaotic enough in your head as it is isn't it! Go on admit it, you have an inner dialogue going on in your head that is a veritable " houses of parliament ".. And the truth is that if all the buffers (essentially all the lies you have told yourself) were to break down suddenly and you were to become conscious of all that at once, you would probably die from the pain and the shock of it... So there are certain built in safety nets / valves, if you like. Our Creator has made it so that we pretty much can't get more than we know how to deal with, but we do of course live in frightfully abnormal times, and there are many casualties. Casualties of the lies mostly, because (again if you are honest with yourself) you will realise that a study of yourself, a study of mankind (such as we find him) can only lead to the conclusion that we are studying LYING on the grandest of scales!!

" The Politics of Lying "

Lets talk a bit about politicians because they make excellent subjects for the study of objective lying on the external scale, and it is necessary, that we know at least something about external realities, if we are to be able to put our all important self study into the right context. A study of man such as he is found is necessarily a study of lying, so let's examine the phenomena a bit and then perhaps it will be easier for you to see just how much we lose by lying! My father used to tell me when I was a boy that "honesty is the best policy" and "cheats and liars never prosper". He was right, for you see what profit has a man, if he should gain the whole world, yet lose his soul in the process?, and make no mistake if you love money you will become a very big liar and lose your soul, such as you presently may have one, for unfortunately that is another of your illusions.. You think that such as you are you can have an immortal soul. You cannot, for God hates a liar, but blesses those who love the truth. I tell you now that it is lying that seperates you from yourself, and in fact panders to your ego, reinforcing your state of deep spiritual sleep. The fact is that in your head are a cacophony of voices, those multiple iiiiiis that I told you about, that make up your deeply divided personality. And unfortunately it does resemble all too much a modern parliament. Many of these voices are liars, most don't know much about the others, there are one or two groups who have formed due to "interests in common" but by and large it's "every man for himself" and "dog eat dog" . Of one thing you can be sure though, every one of these personalitys, or more accurately speaking, 'personality fragments' is a "Self Deceiver" :-(

Now, how to claw back some sort of control and direction out of this morass that is the psyche of modern man such as he is found? It is one thing to get some sanity into a parliament full of politicians. That is a relatively easy task. People just need to wake up to the fact that those they elect are supposed to represent them, and then if they don't, just chuck 'em out at the ballot box.. Like I say, relatively easy, compared to silencing the cacophony of voices in your own head, because we're back to what I said before about this.. "men will not seek out nor struggle to attain that which they believe they already possess" ... if a man believes he is conscious, he will not struggle to awake. I think, or at any rate would hope, that those of you who have read this far through my "Alchemists' Handbook" are those more aware than average souls who have already been awake for some time to the fact that all is not what it at first appears to be, and that not only is there something radically wrong with your own psyche, but that mankind in general is in serious trouble... The collective human consciousness has a mental age of about 14... maybe less... Things are currently getting worse, and unless there is a lot more waking up taking place than has been the case, I cannot see the Hand of The Lord being stayed for very much longer. Yes children, He is real, and He will come. Will you choose to be among those who anger Him? Then learn to love the truth, for The Lord hates a liar.

" The Way out of The Morass and Deputy Steward "

Ok, lets think of a way out of this ocean of lies that exists not only within our own egos, but on a vast scale in the objective world around us. We can't do a lot about the external lying, apart from stop believing in it, but first we must be sure that we have separated what is true from what is false in ourselves, so I am going to tell you some more about "Deputy Steward" now, and the conditions necessary to bring him into being, because you can't just say, Ok, I realise I am asleep, I am (for example) a man No 2, an emotional man, and wish to awake, to become a Man, or Womb-Man No 4... You don't just become a man No 4, because you want to be, and Deputy Steward doesn't just come along and hold your hand. No, on the contrary this requires much work.. "Conscious Labours, and Intentional Sufferings" but before we go into that more, and I tell you more about Deputy Steward, I have to tell you that before even this interim stage is reached, you will have to have, or be able to develop in yourself a little something called "magnetic centre" and to explain magnetic centre to you I will have to introduce some new terms and concepts. Things such as the division of essence and personality and the A, B, and C influences that exist in the Macrocosm around us. I think though that these new aspects of objective reality would be best put into the next chapter, which will be more about the truth, as opposed to the lying we have necessarily had to turn our attention to in any study of politics, however brief. I really ought to be charging you for all this valuable information, but for now consider it a gift. :-)
