The Files Project is based in Perth, Western Australia.  It was initiated by writers/researchers Steve Kinnane and Lauren Marsh.  Steve Kinnane is an Indigenous researcher who has collaborated with Lauren Marsh (non-Indigenous) on a variety of history based projects over a fifteen year period.  Their publications consist of books, papers, community history projects, and documentary film scripts.  They have also assisted Aboriginal community members in recovering information on themselves and their family members stored within archival files.

Lauren Marsh currently works as an independent researcher and writer.  Stephen Kinnane is based at Murdoch University, Western Australia, where he lectures in Environmental Sustainable Development and Aboriginal Politics. www.mcc.murdoch.edu.au/staff/skinnane.htm
