Services
Meetings
The Inventors Association is a collection of like minded individuals all with
unique skills, knowledge and interests who come together to share their insights
and stories. Meetings allow for networking and allow you to have some questions
asked about inventing.
Guest Speakers
Each month we arrange to have a guest speaker. You can hear about relevant issues,
businesses of value, success stories and potential pitfalls.
New speakers are always welcome so if you have something to share, this may
be the forum for you. Please contact the vice-president Cameron
Gibbs.
Newsletter
Each month the association produces a newsletter with relevant stories, information,
up-coming events, ideas and fun.
New stories are always welcome so if you have something to add, please pass
it on to iaawa@space.net.au.
Invention Evaluation
The committee of the IAAWA meet each month. Usually on the 3rd Thursday of the
month at 7:30pm in the Northern Districts Model Engineering Club, Vasto Place
Balcatta. However occasionally this is rescheduled to other days, times and
locations. At these committee meetings members have the opportunity of having
their invention evaluated. Using the knowledge and experiences of the committee
members, your invention can be scrutinised to discuss benefits and potential
pitfalls that you may encounter. General advice can be given however we do always
advise that professionals be consulted where relevant. The benefit of having
this done is that it allows the inventor the opportunity to hear the opinions
and ideas of others as they apply specifically to your invention. The advice
given can at times open up great opportunities or save thousands of dollars.
To schedule an evaluation please contact the vice-president Cameron
Gibbs.
Committee Projects
Currently the committee is working to create what we call an Innovation Incubator.
The idea behind this is that we want to create a company, owned by the Inventors
Association that can work to actively develop inventions from idea through to
market distribution. We seek to coordinate and enlist assistance from many government
departments and from the private sector. To learn more, please read here about
the Innovation Incubator Project or contact the
project leader Cameron Gibbs.
