 When the future goes terribly wrong our only hope may be to go back and change the past. This is the basic plot of 12 Monkeys and I use the word "basic" very loosely. 12 Monkeys is filled with twists and turns and in my opinon it's one of those movies that you get more out of the second or third time you watch it. It's the near future and the world as we know it is no more. Bruce Willis is sent back into the past to gather information about a virus that killed billions of people in the late 1990's. It's back in the past that he meets Brad Pitt who gives an outstanding performance which earned him a Golden Globe Award and a Best Supporting Oscar Nomination. Pitt plays a mental patient and the leader of a group known as "The Army of the 12 Monkeys."

Movies based on time travel can sometimes be very confusing and at first glance this movie seems to follow this train of thought. However, the plot is so tightly woven that by the end of the movie everything makes complete sense.

12 Monkeys is a compelling and unpredictable movie, so much so that giving any more information would completely ruin the fun for those of you who haven't seen it yet.

If you haven't seen this movie...go and get it right now! You won't be disappointed. Those of you who have seen it...go watch it again!
