Quite often a search engine will also contain a directory and visa-versa. Sites with
descriptions and/or reviews are listed below and you will find links to sites without
descriptions in the boxes on the right hand side of the page.

DIRECTORIES

Beyond the Black Stump - This is a huge directory! It has links
to just about everything imaginable. There is also a section called
"Australiana" which, as the name suggests, lists links to all things
Australian! Well worth the visit!

The Aussie Pages - 1999 Business Directory on the
Internet. This site has 1.2 Million Australian Businesses and Organisations
including Addresses, Phone Numbers, WWW, Email & Descriptions
Company Profiles - World Wide Web & Subject SuperGuides
People from Down Under - A Unique Directory of Australian
People. A great collection of personal Web Pages. If it's you're looking for
something Australian this is a great place to start.

LookSmart - Searchable directory

Yahoo! - This is one of the
best directories on the Internet

Yahoo Australia -
In general searches, the search engine puts Australian and New Zealand sites at the top of
the results list.
InfoSpace - Find people, places etc.
The Mining Co. - As well as
being able to find categorised web sites, The Mining Co. has heaps of subject guides,
articles, chat and a lot more!

This pages combines the best search-engines available
on the internet to aid you in locating the pages, news and software you are seeking. From
here you can post a search at several leading search-engines at the same time and quickly
navigate through the results.
Beagle search uses AltaVista, Lycos, Exite, Infoseek,
WebCrawler and Yahoo for searching for
Web-pages and Usenet news. When searching for software Shareware.com and Filez are used.
What I particularly like is the way the results are
posted in separate frames on one page. Along with the Fast Web Search engine (see below) Beagle Search would have to be my favourite search
page.

Lycos.com offers users a full-service Web
destination complete with fast and easy search and navigation resources, personalised
services, chat, an industry leading online shopping area and free e-mail.

WebCrawler - Search engine and web
site directory.
Anzwers - Very good, easy to use
Australian search engine. You can restrict your search to Australia or New Zealand
or search the whole globe.
Web Wombat - This site catalogues
over 2 million Australian Web pages. Along with a general search engine, there are
links to online newspapers, magazines, local information about jobs, real estate and lots
of other resorces.
