I couldn't believe my luck when I signed up for a free trial of AOL Australia and found out that my favourite musical artist, Bryan Adams was going to be live online to talk about his new album On a day like today! Here's the transcript of the chat session.
Welcome Bryan Adams!
Question: Out of all the songs you have recorded, which one holds the most special meaning to you and why?
Bryan Adams: Probably a new song called "Where Angels Used to
Tread." I wrote this for my girlfriend.
Question: Will you be coming to Concord, CA anytime again soon?
Bryan Adams: I am in LA right now, probably a good chance if you send a car
down.
Question: I have noticed that you have the longest song titles of any artist. Is there any special reason for this?
Bryan Adams: I was very inspired by the song
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"....one of the biggest inspirations of my
career.
Question: What CD would I find in your stereo right now?
Bryan Adams: "Slim Whitman's Greatest Hits" and "James Taylor,
The Early Years".
Question: Is there anyone you'd like to team up with in the future that you haven't worked with before?
Bryan Adams: I don't really think about it. Those sort of things just fall
into place naturally... I don't look for collaborations.
Question: What's with supporting the elephants?
Bryan Adams: Have you seen the video? The video is a riddle. Choose a number
between 2 and 9. Add the two numbers together to make one number. Subtract 5 - should be
left with 4. Choose the correspondent letter. Think of a country. Think of the second
letter in the name of the country. Think of an animal that corresponds with the second
letter in that country. That's the riddle.
Question: How did you like being a guest on the Howard Stern show?
Bryan Adams: I had a great time, it was a laugh. Of course, I love dancing
and I love girls.
Question: How do feel about the great reviews the album has been getting so far?
Bryan Adams: I am delighted with the response of the fans.
Question: Can you tell us what it was like to record a song with Barbara Streisand? Where can we find the alternate version of "I Finally Found Someone?"
Bryan Adams: I didn't know there was an alternate version. The demo must have
gotten released and made into a bootleg. I've never heard it unless it's my demo, in which
case it should be me singing by myself.
Question: Can you please have a tour date at least near the state of Alabama?
Bryan Adams: Thank you, sweetheart. I've got no plans to tour right now. I
would love to come to AL, it's been too long.
Question: What was it like to have your music chosen to be in 2 major movies?
Bryan Adams: It wasn't a question of being chosen. I wrote the themes for
those films directly for those films. But since you asked, it was pretty cool.

Bryan Adams: I don't know quite yet, but I know that we will probably release
"When you're Gone."
