... and Australia in
general

Cute and cuddly from a distance ... don't be fooled though, these

Although I have called this
section Travel in Western Australia (W.A.) it will encompass a lot more than just
travel. Most of the information on these pages will relate to Perth and the lower
South-West of the state and the topics covered will include hotels and resorts, eating
out, places to see, shopping guides, etc. Unlike most travel sites which tend to
target people who will be travelling to a given destination, this section will be aimed at
those who actually live in W.A. although anyone who intends visiting or is just interested
in this beautiful state will hopefully find things of interest on these pages.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO FIND IN THE TRAVEL SECTION
Geographically, Perth, the capital
city of Western Australia bears the distinction of being the most isolated capital city in
the world. It is cheaper for us to travel to Singapore or Bali than it is for us to
visit Sydney or Queensland. Because of the great distance we are from the other
States of Australia and the time it takes to travel interstate, holidays (for my family)
are usually spent in and around W.A. Of course, considering the fact that we live in
paradise this is not altogether a bad thing but it can sometimes be a chore to find just
the right place to stay or where to go for a day's outing.
There is nothing more uplifting or revitalising
than going away for the weekend. It's amazing how good you can feel after a couple of days
away from the routine of work and home although finding a suitable place to go is not
always as easy as it may seem. I will be giving reviews of hotels and resorts etc.
from the perspective of both romantic weekends and family holidays.
Kangaroos |

Where would Australia be without kangaroos! |
As Australia is going to be the home of the
Year 2000 Olympics, I will try and give a little information about the rest of Australia
especially Sydney, the Olympic City. However as I personally haven't traveled
around this vast country, the information will be quite short. I prefer to write
about things I have experienced!
Eventually, this section will have snippets about
such things as our unique wildlife etc. but it's going to take some time before it is all
completed. For now I will be concentrating on Perth and W.A.
